Sponsorship Opportunities - 2006

ASVC was formed as a non-profit corporation in 2000 with a mission to promote the linkage of entrepreneurial initiatives between Asia and Silicon Valley. As a dynamic young community, we are committed to assist and inspire entrepreneurs to propel their visions into reality by providing them with substantive intelligence on cross-border company-building and access to a support network of investors, professional service providers and industry luminaries in Asia and Silicon Valley.

Over the past five years ASVC has substantially enhanced its name recognition in the Bay Area and it is largely attributable to the overwhelming support we have received from corporate sponsors. In addition to providing us with generous financial assistance, our corporate sponsors add significant value to the ASVC community by serving as strategic partners, advisors and speakers for our organization and its events. ASVC gratefully acknowledges the support from its sponsors and looks forward to their continued assistance in 2006.

ASVC Programs

ASVC reaches out to its community by hosting professional events designed to support entrepreneurship and innovation in Asia and Silicon Valley. Below are descriptions of our recurring events:

Gong Show: ASVC is perhaps best known for its successful series of business plan competitions. ASVC works with a committee of VCs and entrepreneurs to review numerous submissions from its community of entrepreneurs and selects approximately ten companies to participate in the Gong Show. At the Show, each company pitches a panel of top-tier VCs and an audience of approximately 200 entrepreneurs, VCs, professional service providers and media groups. In addition to providing substantive training and investment connections to our presenting companies, our Gong Shows announce to the world that the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in Silicon Valley and Asia.

Insight Conferences: Our Insight Conferences debriefs our community about the leading trends in Silicon Valley and Asia. By tapping into its network and, as appropriate, its strategic alliance organizations, ASVC brings together influential leaders of our industry to present insightful discussions to an audience of approximately 200 of our community members. Topics for examination in 2004 included the emergence of life science industry in India and China, options for outsourcing to Asia and a critical look at Chinese IPO's on the NASDAQ market.

Venture Mentor Program: The Venture Mentor Program was created in 2006 by the advisors and past charter members of ASVC as a means of fostering entrepreneurship and volunteerism, through introducing ASVC members to business professionals from a variety of disciplines who have committed their time to help guide Entrepreneurs. The Venture Mentor Program provides entrepreneurs, with insight, advice, and professional and educational wisdom to help entrepreneurs address the key issues for the success of their new or emerging business.

Entrepreneur Workshops: ASVC's Entrepreneur Workshops provide the essentials for Entrepreneurs. The Workshops are highly-focused, practical, interactive sessions that provide in-depth instruction for early-stage and rapid-growth entrepreneurs. The sessions are geared for founders, CEOs, and executives or enterprising individuals thinking about a new venture. These sessions will include: How to formulate a successful presentation, a one-page Executive Summary that won't bore a VC, brief review of a Term Sheet, Non-Disclosure Agreement, Business Plan, etc.
